Band Shots

Music Video - Write Up 1

After a very busy week trying (and succeeding) to hand in the draft music video Mae and I decided it would best to get started on the real thing as soon as possible. With this in mind we planned to get together with Josh and James on Sunday afternoon. We chose to start filming at Mae's because she had a music room which would make the band shots more realistic and instruments we could use.

First we got changed and did make up and hair. The two guys wear waring pretty simple and casual clothing of jeans and tshirt, Josh also wore a denim jacket to make his look more interesting. I wore a black lace dress, a leather jacket, black tights and doc martens. We thought that this suited the genre of music because it is slightly alternative. As for make up, the boys simply wore powder to make their skin look better under the camera. I wore foundation, powder and dramatic eyeliner.

We filmed mainly the band shots of us all playing together. These shots will come in at the end of the video. we also filmed some close ups and mid shots of Josh and James playing solo. These shots will be interspersed throughout the video. We also took some time to film 'interview' footage and 'behind the scenes' as we thought we could upload this to our twitter page to make it more interactive and realistic. We will start editing this footage soon and we will post a link to the twitter when we have.

We also took some band photos that we will upload to our blog and twitter as soon as possible. We did a mixture of serious and fun pictures based on pictures we had seen of bands of a similar genre. See pictures below.

Change to Costume

When filming the draft field shots we decided on using a black lace dress rather than white. The image in our heads of how it would look didn't happen in real life and we felt the black dress was a better choice. Now paired with doc martens, tights and a leather jacket we have the look we will use for the rest of the filming. We think this look reflects the genre well and looks good for the video.

Change to Band Line Up

We have decided on a slight change to the band line up. We have now decided James would be better on piano and we have replaced Charlie with Josh who is now on guitar. We decided this move was best for the look of our band as Josh has the style we want. Through filming we have also realised he is more suited to guitar and looks more comfortable in front of the camera. The line up as of now is Laura as Frankie on vocals, Josh as Jay on guitar and James as Matt on piano.
